Answered: report to insurance or not?

Some Insurance companies offer Glass coverage so check if you have that on your policy. If not you can fix it yourself or you can file a comprehensive claim but you will have to pay your deductible first. BUT if the damages are less than your deductible you cannot file a claim, Ex: If your deductible is $500 and the damages are for $300 you cannot file a claim since you would need to pay the $500 to get it fixed. If you have damages for $800 you would pay your ded. of $500 and the ins. will cover the rest. Good luck!

If my car failed the Maryland State Inspection, can I sell the car before repairing instead of titling?

I just moved to Maryland from out-of-state and my vehicle didn't pass the Maryland State Inspection because of a chip in the windshield (that I can't even see from the driver's seat), and the rear brake shoes needing to be replaced.

Rather than pay the $600 to fix this, have it reinspected, and then apply for title and registration, can I just decide instead to sell it to someplace like CarMax where they'll fix it themselves, and look for a different vehicle for myself? I was planning on selling anyway; this might just be the extra motivation I need to do it now.

Answered: Wondering if something can be done with my 2003 Jetta?

I had this problem just a few weeks ago actually (Horrible situation). Anyways.. I had a jetta that was sold to me from another dealership.. Like yours there was no information on Carfax and I assumed everything was fine. Here's what I would do.. :)
1. Find out how much the car is worth/how much you can sell it for
2. Go by a carmax and see how much they would offer.. often times they offer more than regular dealers.
3. Honestly it will take you months to sell the car by yourself.. so seriously look into trading it in (Only if they are willing to pay the car off/not charge you)
4. Get a VW CERTIFIED PRE_OWNED CAR please!!!! you benefit off of the people who spent $$$$$$$$$ in maintenance costs at the dealership.
5. Shop around.. Do not jump on the first offer..

I ended up trading my car in.. and I now have an 05 Jetta 2.5L which has been great..

283 is not high depending on what you got i.e. plugs, wires, fuel filter,and air filter and the brand used hopefully they used a/c delcoon plugs and wires. as far as heater goes if they just blew you off right away they are wrong todo so i belive (not for sure and neither r they) the vent doors that control your air flow work off vacuum which they where right by the hoses. you might call them back and ask if maybe they unhooked 1 (u shouldn't have to they should atleast offer) if thier attuide sucks,tell them you are recording the call,and inform them u will take it somewhere else and if it is a vacuum hose you want to be refunded the amount of that repair. i own a shop i would want to look at it again to make sure if you take it back to them STAY there and watch the repair. if they come back and say not vacuum take to other shop

Description revision help? ?

Brookfield is a quiet town, small, and pressed between it’s larger neighbors. Exciting happenings are few and far in-between. Streets wind through the masses of buildings, pathways for the numerous cars, hinting routes to take. There’s nowhere to go, all sense of direction lost within the complete blandness of its nature. Locals know this well, and make day trips to the surrounding area for entertainment. Teenagers flock to the Danbury mall, movies premier at AMC in the next town over. Brookfield is maintained for looks, not entertainment.
At one point it was decided that there is indeed a town center, though few can ascertain the true location. Ask around, and you will receive many answers: near Center School, between the churches, or by the Brookfield Market and four-corners, the gas stations. A consensus has never been reached.
Brookfield has been around for many years, since the 1700’s some say. And perhaps a few of the buildings would plausibly fit the time constraint, but remolding and new paint-jobs have done away with the wear and tear, and those unattended to have long been boarded up and condemned. Sidewalks are an oddity as well, falteringly lining the roads at random intervals, most in poor repair. But no one walks in Brookfield. Instead, they opt to drive around in cars, new and big, or small and old, hiding behind windshields that reflect their status. Motor vehicles are popular, and drivers’ licenses are a much sought-after thing throughout high school.
Four seasons all run their course. Spring bright with landscaped flowers, summer hot with bugs and thunderstorms, fall colorful and crisp with leaves, flowing gradually into the snow and ice of winter. A tasting and good mix of all the seasons, all extreme and unique in their own ways, so unlike the people of Brookfield, who all gravitate towards the social “norm”.

Be harsh as you want, just make sure it's constructive please :)

Answered: What Evidence is needed to prove a person is responsible for property damage in a civil court?

Something is "fishy" as an "eyewitness" is rarely required to get a conviction like that. "I heard his voice, recognized his voice, and then saw him walking away." That, combined with motive and opportunity, should be more than enough circumstantial evidence to get a conviction.

You didn't "lose" in your criminal case; the prosecutor failed to persuade the "finder of fact" of each element "beyond a reasonable doubt" that your ex was, in fact, responsible for the crime.

In civil court you (as plaintiff) would only have to prove it "more likely than not" that he did it and that your damages amounted to $2,000.

If you're suing in civil court, be sure to add on ALL the damages, including actual, consequential, incidental, future, and so forth (mental distress, having to take a taxi until car is repaired, fearing for your life when he's around, etc), because you might be prevented from coming back for more later.

Answered: My Suzuki Esteem 2000 Won't Start? help?

Start with the battery, have a load test done at an auto parts store. Chances are good it has a bad cell. Expect to replace the battery every 3 years or so, after the first 2 years it has a pro-rata warranty.

Sensor replacement (depending on which one) isn't that expensive, however the thing that seperates a technician from a parts changer (which is what most mechanics are these days) is to follow through on a complete diagnosis. He will look for cheap and simple problems first before condemning complicated and expensive parts, which all of them SHOULD do but seldom will. You may benefit by taking your car to someone else as this fellow apparently didn't fix it properly the first time.

Car decisions PLEASE HELP lol?

ok here are the facts: I am 21 yrs old, still in college and will be for another year and a half for my masters. I have become very interested in cars and want to get a car with some potential that I can work with. Current car is automatic and I really want a stick. I'm gunna list facts because it might make this easier:

21 years old
in college for another 1.5 years
4.5k saved
steady job, however, when in college no job is really that stable lol
into tuner cars
lots of student loans
parents not financially stable enough to cover any risky waste of money (such as cosigning a loan)
can save around 200 per 2 weeks
current car is a piss off (riced civic that leaks through windshield, needs brakes, body kit is in shitty quality, slammed so ride quality pisses me off, automatic, no CEL cause i spent a **** load of money in repairs already)
btw all the wrongly done mods were done by previous owners. I was 19 when i bought and i just really liked how it looked

Question: Should I buy a old 2000 si, gsr, etc. Basically a cheap car that has potential but is not the same quality as a newer car. Or should I continue to save and try and get a srt-4, old wrx, is300, etc. This category is something that is already pretty quick with some room for mods and would probably be more comfortable and less maintenance expenses. Was really hoping to have the car by this summer because I am getting kind of old and building tuner cars won't be in my budget for long cause once i get out of school its time to pay back those loans lol

Biggest thing is my current car pisses me off with all the rattles from breaking body kit and horrible ride quality from wrongly done suspension by previous owners, as well as its a automatic.

i would sell it as is. its going to be way too much to try and fix. it sounds like its going to need many different things. you would be suprised at how many people would be willing to buy it and fix it up. you can always call around to some junk yard and they may give you some money for it. good luck. look into buying a better made car next time.

when you sign the form to get the oil changed, the company cant be held liable to any damages to your car. Unless that is, it's negligent meaning that the mistake was obvious, stupid, and caused major damage.

Answered: I just bought a used 2008 Nissan Altima and it failed inspection! What steps do I take now?

I never trust stealerships, I had one try to sell me a truck that had the firewall blanket eaten out by mice, then tell me three times it was fixed and it was still in the shop when I got there.

Yes, make them make it pass inspection, then go home and never look back. You can do far better maintenance in your driveway than the dealership can ever dream of because you know your car, you care about your car, you know if your car fails you're not going to work. They don't know or care about any of that.

That's about the best advice I can provide. My family maintains three Chevrolet vehicles:
1998 Blazer LS 4X4
2001 Cavalier 2.2
2006 Silverado 1500 4X4 Z71

We only go to the local shop for tires and air conditioning issues. Everything else we do in our driveway. I maintain the Blazer pretty much single-handedly, 155,000 miles and runs like new. I've never been stranded by any of those three. That's a lot more than anyone who goes to the dealer for service can say.

Is your car using coolant,do you have to add coolant often?Is there steam coming out of defroster vents?If so,your heater core or hoses to heater core are leaking.

You should check rubber door seals around your doors.They break down or get worn over the years and can leak.To check whether you wind shield is leaking,have some one hold a garden hose on it while you look for water dripping under dash.

Which Jeep Wrangler should I get?

I'm looking at two Jeep Wranglers. I'm a college kid so I'm looking to spend as little as I have to on a car, but I want it to run well, without needing major repairs, for as long as it can. I go to school in Michigan's UP where it's winter for about 6 months.

The first one is a '95 with 125,000 miles. The guy who is selling it hasn't driven it much, but he's replaced the brake lines, exhaust, front brake calipers, rear brake cylinders, and front brake pads. There are a few spots that have been fixed with Bondo and repainted. The rust isn't more than you'd expect. Interior is nice. Runs fairly well, but I didn't get it above 45 so I can't say how it does at higher speeds. The tires looked to be in good shape. It had a hard top and hard upper doors (although these didn't line up very well so there was a gap where you can see outside). The guy is asking $2800.

The other is another '95 but has 164,000. It's exterior is a bit more scratched up (not a problem though). Looks like it had been in a fender bender on one side. There's 1 rust spot and another place on the fender where it's been rusted through. The windshield is cracked and a belt in the engine will need to be replaced. But I didn't notice any places where the body had been fixed up. The interior was arguably nicer in this one, although the driver's seat was torn and there are some wires hanging around under the dash, but most look like they're supposed to be there (might just need to be fastened down). It had a soft top and soft doors. The tires were in decent shape, but not as good as the other Jeep's. My dad made the comment that he wasn't sure how much traction they'd get in snow. It ran great though - started right up and shifted well. This one is from a used car dealer and they've listed it for $2400.

Based on that, which do you think will be a better deal? My main worry is that, if I get the soft top one, I'll decide I want a hard top and hard doors and be out close to a grand to get those. Second biggest worry is probably the tires.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Does anyone know the fine for improperly displayed plates in the state of Missouri?

My car was rear ended and my car insurance co. decided to consider it a total loss even though it's still driveable. I don't have the money right now to pay to get my car's rear back the way it was. I was only able to get my tail lights & trunk fixed. For some reason, the same shop that did the repairs decided to not put my plates (front and back) back on, and I got a ticket for only having my front license plate sitting in my windshield.

Answered: Why am I losing coolant from my car?

Just for the heck of it, try tightening all the hose clamps. Even though theres no signs of leaks. It might just leak while you're driving. The pressure builds while you're driving and goes away when you're not. In any case I'd bet its a hose.

Broken PSP, screen messed up?

I dropped my brother's PSP and when we turned it on to see if it still worked, it comes on but the screen has been damaged. It is not cracked out the outside but has been harmed on the inside. It honestly looks like there's a picture on the screen of a broken windshield. He got it 2 Christmases ago and we only had 1 year od warranty. We've both been pretty upset since I was the one who caused it and it was basically attached to him and took pretty good care of it. I'm wondering if it is possible to be fixed since something inside of it is broken, or should I go ahead and buy him another one? If it can be fixed, how much do you think it would cost and who would I contact about repairing it? Anything to save money but also to get him another PSP is what I am looking for. Thank you in advance

True or False Driving Questions! :)?

Gauges and indicator lights are usually in the same place on all vehicles.
Anti freeze should be added to windshield washers to prevent freezing in winter.
A glance at an outside mirror is essential when a driver wants to change lanes.
Sun visors are helpful for shading the eyes from the glare of the sun.
You should rely on guages and indicators to inform you whether your car is performing properly.
The cooling liquid in the engines needs to be changed once a year.
During ordinary driving the alternator indicator light should show red
You should be able to read a gauge at a glance.
Most new cars have manually controlled chokes.
Parking brakes operate only on the back wheels.
If a temperature gauge or warning light shows "hot", you should immediadely drive to the nearest service station for repairs.
The oil pressure light or gauge indicates when the oil should be changed
If you open the door and hear a buzzer, the key must still be in the ignition switch
After getting into a car, the driver should adjust the seat before adjusting the mirrors
The automatic transmission should never be shifted to PARK when the car is moving.

I bought a car and the dealer Verbally told me car had 93,215 but the paperwork that was signed says 193,215?

We went to a local dealership and spoke with a salesman. He asked us what kind of car we where looking for. We told him something around $2000 with low miles. He showed us one vehicle with around 180,000 miles on it and in our price range, we said that the mileage was way to high for what we where looking for. He then showed us the 1993 Ford Explorer which read on the windshield: $2800 4x4 Low Mileage. He began telling us that he just received this vehicle a few days ago and that "it had only 93,215 original miles on it." We told him that is pretty good for being such an older car. He told us that it had only "one previous owner and it wasn't used much." We told him that we only came with $2000 cash, which then he proceeded to tell us that he would take $800 off because he knew we where tight on money. He said to us "With 93,215 original miles on this car you could drive it for a year or two and still get $1500, when you sell it." Well found out our paperwork says 193,215 original miles. Now I don't know what to do. He verbally deceived us and mislead us. He sold us a car under false pretense. By him misleading us it induced us into the contract. We would of never even stepped into his office to began paperwork if he told us it had 193K miles on it. The car has had all types of trouble $700 worth of repairs and now it needs a new engine, I don't know what to do?

Do you think my neighbor is going to be mad? I scratched his car?

Well, I scratched my neighbor´s car while trying to park my own. It was an accident and it´s not too bad, there is just a small scratch. Thing is that he is not at home (I tried ringing the bell) and I´m afraid he´s going to be really mad with me. I already left a note at his windshield to please see me when he comes home (he should come from work in about two hours). I´m really sorry and I already called my boyfriend´s father who own a garage and he is willing to take care of it tonight so the car can be spotless again by tomorrow morning. Or if the neighbor wants to have it repaired somewhere else, I am ready to pay full price. Do you think that if I apologize, promise it will never happen again and pay for the damage, he will be alright and willing not to report it to the insurance company? The neighbor is a middle-aged guy, I´m a 19 years old girl, we´re not really friends but we´ve never had any conflicts at all, we say hi when we see each other. PLEASE tell me that he´s not going to freak out too much, I´m scared :/

What is most likely wrong with my car and what can I do?

I just got back from a 5 minute drive and I immediately realized my car's steering wheel is very hard to turn. Then, I realized that the temperature gauge shows it's going all the way to the top, eventually pass High. I immediately went home after this.

Also 2 weeks ago my windshield wiper fluid stopped coming out from the 2 holes even though I still have wiper fluid. (I don't know if the two are connected or have anything to do with each other).

What do you say I do now? Am I looking at a big and expensive repairing job? My car is a 1998 Mazda Millenia 2.5L. Any suggestions/advices would be helpful. Thanks alot

CAR INSPECTION COSTS.?

I had my car inspected this morning. Could somebody tell me roughly what they think the following repairs would amount to. I know the amount he is charging me but I know nothing about cars and I'm curious as to the general consensus of what other think it would cost in total for the following on a 1995 Honda Accord:

2 Front Tires
Rear Brakes
Rear Brake Drum
Ball Bearing
Oil Change
Windshield Wipers
+ $60 for emissions/inspection costs

Thanks for your help and input!

Power Steering Fluid Leak?

I have a 95 Cadillac Sedan Deville with about 103,000 miles on it. The power steering fluid has been leaking for about 2 weeks now. I add lucas stop leaking, and now I'm adding fluid 2 to 3 times a week. I am doing this until I save up money to pay the repairs. When it leaks it gets on the engine and a little bit of steam appears. I looked into my engine to try to pin point the leak, it appears to be the point where you stick your head in near the windshield and look all the way down. Underneath the car, that's where it appears to be dripping. Anyone knows that area and can tell exactly what part is broken and how much the estimate is? As long as I keep adding steering fluid and stop leak to slow down the leak, it cant cause anymore damage right? Just doing this until I have the money to pay.

What would you do if your spouse wrecked part of YOUR car?

Ok so my husband was attempting to show off in MY Nissan Pathfinder and wound up sliding in the dirt and falling 7 feet, hitting the entire front end of my truck. Lucky for me theres a 120 wall steel pushbar on there. His friend wasnt wearing a seatbelt so he flew forward and busted my windshield (hes ok btw)BUT my skid plate's ruined, one of my foglights, pass side turn signal cover, the pass headlight glass, ball joints, bushings and something with the steerings screwed up. Obviously Im pissed and Ive already unloaded on him but now what??? Im so mad I just fell off the smoking wagon and I dont care if he gets mad about it. Hes not allowed to drive it unless its work and back, going to see his daughter or repairing it. Is that, and my leaving the house to go post this while I have a smoke, enuff? Honestly, what would YOU do?

Wanna hear some great Holy Humor?

HOLY HUMOUR

A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly, 'I know what the Bible means!'

His father smiled and replied, 'What do you mean, you 'know' what the Bible means?

The son replied, 'I do know!'

'Okay,' said his father. 'What does the Bible mean?'

'That's easy, Daddy...' the young boy replied excitedly,' It stands for 'Basic Information Before Leaving Earth.'

=======

There was a very gracious lady who was mailing an old family Bible to her brother in another part of the country.

'Is there anything breakable in here?' asked the postal clerk.

'Only the Ten Commandments.' answered the lady.

========

'Somebody has said there are only two kinds of people in the world.

There are those who wake up in the morning and say, 'Good morning, Lord,' and there are those who wake up in the morning and say, Good Lord, it's morning.'

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: 'I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses.'

When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note 'I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation.'

========

There is the story of a pastor who got up one Sunday and announced to his congregation: 'I have good news and bad news. The good news is, we have enough money to pay for our new building program. The bad news is, it's still out there in your

pockets.'

========

While driving in Pennsylvania, a family caught up to an

Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humour, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign... 'Energy efficient vehicle: Runs on oats and grass. Caution: Do not step in exhaust.'

========

A Sunday school teacher began her lesson with a question, 'Boys and girls, what do we know about God?' A hand shot up in

the air. 'He is an artist!' said the kindergarten boy. 'Really? How do you know?' the teacher asked. 'You know - Our Father, who does art in Heaven.... '

========

A minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas just before a long holiday weekend.. The attendant worked quickly, but there were many cars ahead of him. Finally, the attendant motioned him toward a vacant pump. 'Reverend,' said the young man, 'I'm so sorry about the delay. It seems as if everyone waits until the last minute to get ready for a long trip.' The minister chuckled, 'I know what you mean. It's the same in my

business.'

========

People want the front of the bus, the back of the church, and the center of attention.

========

Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson was about.

The daughter answered, 'Don't be scared, you'll get your quilt.' Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that morning's Sunday school lesson was about. He said 'Be not afraid, thy comforter is coming.'

========

The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to ask the congregation to come up with more money than they were expecting for repairs to the church building. Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought in at the last minute. The substitute wanted to know what to play 'Here's a copy of the service,' he said impatiently. 'But, you'll have to think of something to play after I make the announcement about the finances.' During the service, the minister paused and said, 'Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty; the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected and we need $4,000 more. Any of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up'. At that moment, the substitute organist played 'The Star Spangled Banner.' And that is how the substitute became the regular organist!

=========

Give me a sense of humour, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humour out of life,
And pass it on to other folk!

 ========
A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large
city because he was short of time and couldn't find a
space with a meter.
Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read:
"I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't
park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our
trespasses."
When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer
along with this note "I've circled this block for
10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my
job. Lead us not into temptation."

========
There is the story of a pastor who got up one Sunday and
announced to his congregation: "I have good news and
bad news. The good news is, we have enough money to pay for
our new building program. The bad news is, it's still
out there in your pockets."

========
While driving in Pennsylvania, a family caught up to an
Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a
sense of humor, because attached to the back of the
carriage was a hand printed sign... "Energy efficient
vehicle: Runs on oats and grass. Caution: Do not step in
exhaust."

 ========
A Sunday School teacher began her lesson with a question,
"Boys and girls, what do we know about God?"
A hand shot up in the air. "He is an artist!"
said the kindergarten boy.
"Really? How do you know?" the teacher asked.
"You know - Our Father, who does art in Heaven...
"
========
A minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas
just before a long holiday weekend. The attendant worked
quickly, but there were many cars ahead ad of him. Finally,
the attendant motioned him toward a vacant pump.
"Reverend," said the young man, "I'm so
sorry about the delay. It seems as if everyone waits until
the last minute to get ready for a long trip."
The minister chuckled, "I know what you mean. It's
the same in my business."

========
People want the front of the bus, the back of the church,
and the center of attention.

========
Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter
what the lesson was about.
The daughter answered, "Don't be scared,
you'll get your quilt."
Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day,
the pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what
that morning's Sunday school lesson was about.
He said "Be not afraid, thy comforter is coming."

========
The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was
going to ask the congregation to come up with more money
than they were expecting for repairs to the church
building. Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the
regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought
in at the last minute. The substitute wanted to know what to
play.
"Here's a copy of the service," he said
impatiently. "But, you'll have to think of
something to play after I make the announcement about the
finances."
During the service, the minister paused and said,
"Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty; the
roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected and we need
$4,000 more. Any of you who can pledge $100 or more, please
stand up."
At that moment, the substitute organist played "The
Star Spangled Banner."
And that is how the substitute became the regular organist!

=========
Give me a sense of humor, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humor out of life,
And pass it on to other folk!

Is this a good idea for a first car?

Hey y'all, so I get my license in a few months, so I've been looking for a car. I've been searching everywhere, on the sides of roads, at pick 'n save, in autoparts parking lots, on craigslist, you name it, I've been looking. I think I found the one, but I'm a little nervous, because it'll need some work. It's a 1981 Chevy Chevette with 26,000 original miles, a flawless interior, but a not so perfect exterior. Along the rear wheel wells, the bottom of the doors, and along the bottom of the windshield it's rusting, not bad in some places, but it is still rust.My dad and his friends love cars and love to work on them so I asked, and they'd be game to do it, but apparently rusting is what they're known for. I'm not sure I feel comfortable asking them for all this work to get done, all the sanding, painting, and repairing will add up. The flip side is, I can get this car for under $1,000. HELP ME!! I'm falling for it, but I don't want to fall into a rust pit. ANY advice would be welcomed! THANKS

winshield wipers on my car wont move.?

i have a 97 mazda protege and when i try and turn on my windshield wipers..they dont move. i can hear the sound of the motor but nothing else happens. i asked my mechanic about it and he said i wore out the little plastic pieces. i think he called them plastic arm bushings. i'm not completely sure if thats what he called them though. he said they should be like $.50-$1.00 a piece.
does anybody know the name of the part he is talking about? i need to go buy the part but i need to know the correct name first.

also, does anybody know roughly how much it would cost to get them repaired?
thank you in advance

I need some legal advice on property damage.?

I crashed into someone's car and broke the windshield on the back. I was not driving, I was on my bike. And the car was parked on the side of the road and there was no one inside. I didn't do this on purpose of course. Then I called the ambulance and the police came as well. Later, I got a call from the car's owner's insurance company telling me to pay for the damage. Instead of paying money, can I offer to repair the car at an auto shop? Because getting a repair at an auto shop cost less than the actually damage payment. Or do I absolutely have to pay for the damage?
In case that the owner has already repair the window, can I ask for the receipt of the repair and just pay that amount?
What are the legal process for that? Do I have to go to court?

Does anyone know where I can get/purchase the 1984 film "Why Me"?

True story about an Air Force Nurse who's face is grossly disfigured when she is goes threw the windshield when her car is hit by a drunk driver in the "60's" and loses her baby on impact. (she's pregnant) It's also about the Doctor who saw potential in her recovery and finally experimented with a technique unknown back then, but is used for cosmetic surgery today. Leola Mae Harmon had 40 operations to get her face repaired. During that time, her husband divorced her but she and the doctor married in real life. (Her husband couldn't stand the way she looked before her face was completely reconstructed, how shallow) :)

The actors are: Glynnis O'Connor and Armand Assante. ◄ He is still yummy at 62 years. :)

Oh, I saw pics of the real Leola Mae Harmon and I think she's real pretty. She only had a tiny scar close to her mouth to denote her tragedy. Thank you so much. I appreciate you!
How much should i sell my car for?

I've got a 1998 Ford Escort zx2 with 149k miles and a blown head gasket but otherwise in really good condition. The body and interior look great, no body damage. No rips, tears, or burns in the interior. Transmission was rebuilt around 90k miles, new radiator and windshield a few months ago. This car was also kept up with constant maintenance any time it needed anything.
The head gasket was blown about 2 days ago while i was driving so i had it towed to the shop where they told me what was wrong and its been sitting there since. My husband and I have decided just to sell it rather than bother with the repairs because we have a baby due in 2 weeks and don't want to worry about coming out of pocket when we still need so many things for our new arrival. I'd like to know what i should expect to get out of it by selling the car as is. I know it's an older car with high miles and we don't want to rip anyone off, but i also would like to get as close as i can to what it's worth. So my question is to all you car gurus out there, How much should i sell this car for?

totaled car- donation vs parting, easily removable parts?

what are the simplest parts to remove from a car? Engine, transmission and mechanics appear to be fine the car is basically alright but needs repairs that I can't afford and think aren't worth. Airbags and left front end need to be fixed/replaced and it would be equal to the car's market value to fix the hood, lights, windshield etc. The car is not a true wreck but the salvage yard I towed it to is only willing to give me $200 for a 1997 toyota convertible! Basically every part of the car is worth more than $200,so I'm planning to take some basic parts off to make a few dollars and then donate it or selling to another yard...any suggestions on which parts to start w/

When this much goes wrong with a vehicle in South Dakota, isnt there something I can do?

I live in Sioux Falls, SD, last week saturday (3/6) i bought a used van from the budget mart at autoland becuz my transmission went out in mine the week before. i bought it for $2500, its a 1996 Chrysler Town n Country, 196,000 miles on it. that night around 10 pm my whole dash gages stopped reading. no spedometer, odometer, RPM's, fuel or temp gage. so sunday i stopped by autozone and had a diagnostic run on it and it came back that the sensor went out in it along with the 6th cylinder was misfiring. well i knew it was a sensor cuz thats what happened in mine n just had to replace it. i called the sales guy Greg and told him what was going on along with the fact that there was an electrical short cuz the the windshield wipers werent working properly and the radio/cd player only works when the car is warm. so he said he'd talk to his boss and would get back to me & see if it was something major then he'd work on getting me into another vehicle...and i said or give me my money back.... on tuesday i finally talked to him again n he was at north cliff auto so i talked with one of the mechanics, Kent, and he agreed that it probably was a sensor but would need to look at it to make sure and that it would cost about $30 for him to do that. i said well i'm not paying for it cuz i feel i shouldnt have to. so i got on the phone again with greg and stated the same thing n of course greg said well i'll have to talk to my boss. he called me tuesday night and said that they would cover getting it looked at and to call the shop to see when they could get it in. wednesay morning comes. kayla is getting out of the sliding door and the top of the door comes off the track! i manage to get it closed and then my ex jimmie came by after work and put it back on and noticed that theres no stopper for the door. then along with that the van starts to stall on me. im able to restart it and continue on my way. thursday comes i talk to the shop and they can get it in monday morning. ok fine ill just have to be careful driving. friday comes. i leave work and i get to Russell n Minn corner, during 5 o'clock traffic and of course it stalls. I restart it and this time when i shift it into drive it stalls again. i continue this routine about 3 more times. nothing. it wont shift. i call greg and told him that i was stranded cuz the damn van wont move. he stutters thru and says well i'm with some customers let me take your number and ill give you a call back in a half hour. in the meantime gte ahold of north cliff auto and see if they can help you. so i did and they sent a tow truck. finally about 5:45 they show up and take me n the van back to the shop. i dont have any other mode of transportation so they let me use the shops van for the weekend. SO...
Monday (yesterday) comes n i call the shop to find out if anyone has looked at it and can tell me whats going on with it. the guy says well Jack (the manager) will be calling me to discuss it. ok fine, so i get the number to where hes at the tried about 4 times and the phone is busy so i call greg to see if he knew what was going on. he tells me that the torque converter went out in it (which is in the transmission) and that autoland wasnt going to cover it but that jack was looking around for a cheap part! i told him i feel i shouldnt have to pay for it cuz its only been a week since ive had this thing and all this has been going wrong from the start! well since that conversation i havent heard from anyone. So not i have to figure out what the hell i'm gonna do. I emailed Gary Conklin (an attorney) and he emailed me back and said that the lemon law usually only deals with new vehicles not used. And i did a little research and according to what i read the "As Is" clause basically states that once its driven off the lot they are not liable for any repairs...but theres gotta be a hole somewhere! i mean not even 24 hrs after having this thing i get all this?

Keep it or junk my vehicle? What would you do?!?

Giving a quick poll to figure out what the best thing to do would be. I have a 2002 (Grand Am) and it's at 140k. There is a list of extensive repairs and fixer uppers that total around 4k-5k. I've had the car for 6 years and it's a great engine, nothing horrible about it. But I have replaced just about everything else during my time with it. I want your opinions on whether or not I should A.) Get a new, used vehicle to depend on, or B.) Fix mine up for half that?? Quick FAQs: The car is payed off, the insurance is $55/mo. and gas mileage is good enough for my driving needs. There's just so much to get fixed/replaced, I don't know what would be worth doing when it comes down to value in the end. Some random examples: Windshield not covered by insurance and is cracked, needs Full tune up, Headlights, Brakes, A/C compressor, E brake (fix?) and the biggest - The transmission. Thanks!

Smoke coming out of my car's a/c vents?

I have a 2000 Dodge Neon ES(dont know if that matters).

Okay, I had my brother in law change my radiator on last week Thursday. Friday, Saturday, Sunday my car drove well, no problems when I turned my air conditioner on or off. But on MOnday, I noticed during and after I turned on my a/c, smoke was coming out of the vents and my temperature gauge went hot, I thought maybe it was just condensation but it was not bc there were big smoke "clouds" and it had a horrible smell. I really can not describe the smell, but I know it is not normal, it does not smell like burnt rubber or plastic. Anyway, so I pull over and let it sit for a while but it was still doing the same thing when I started it up again. Keep driving it and prayed it did not stop on me. Also there is a rattling sound or ticking sound that I had not heard before. Tuesday comes and I go to work, the smoke was so bad that it was clouding my front window(like as if it were raining or cold outside and I did not have heat or something) I had to keep wiping my front windshield with a napkin. I drive for about 10 minutes maybe 15 minutes and it stops on me(temperature gauge is hot too). Oh crap right. So I let it sit for 5 minutes, it starts up again but it stops 1 minute later. So I waited 5 minutes again and was able to pull into a business parking lot. I put water in it but still the temperature gauge does not budge. So I have no idea was is going on with my car, when I open the hood, everything seems normal, fan is working and all. So can you help me out please. Also it has 200k miles on it, can you tell me if it is worth repairing or if I should invest in a more updated vehicle.

How much could I sell my 1998 328i BMW?

Forgive me but I don't know much about cars

My BMW started to give me problems recently with the hose that connects to the radiator breaking off the radiator which I need to buy a new one for. It now doesn't even start. I dont want to deal with the hassle of repairing it because of the hassle and because I want to buy a new car. But I don't know how much it would be worth and where I would sell it. The paint is not great. Floor carpet is teared a bit on the passenger side. Someone recently cracked my windshield, and the radiator problem which also transposed into my car not starting. The shocks are not in best condition.The car was running great before this. Engine great! Would someone be able to give me a price range to sell it and if I should sell it privately or trade it in? Im in the NYC area.

Thanks a bunch advance

I thought it was a motor issue, but several other people have told me it's more like a drive shaft issue. I don't know enough about cars to do anything about it, all I know is it needs towed, because it vibrates too badly at highway speeds to be safe. I've only had it two months! It's a 2004 Mercedes ML-350 SUV, got about 69,000 miles on it, now. This all just started last night, it had been running pretty good, then I put new low beam headlamps in it, added a little bit of power steeering fluid, an oil additive (risoline, I believe), windshield washer fluid, and a new air filter, and ten miles later it was vibrating all through the cab of the vehicle, and nothing I could do would make it stop, I checked the cover on the motor multiple times, every hose connection I could get to, looked all over for any loose tools that might have inadvertently fallen into the engine compartment while we were messing around with the headlamps, checked my tire pressure multiple times. How can a drive shaft just go bad in 10 miles? That's a pretty big deal, isn't it? It must be, because there is only one auto shop within towing distance of me (which I figure to be about 200 miles) willing to work on a drive shaft issue, they're willing to do minor repairs, but when I said it was maybe the drive shaft, they all said that was too big a job for them to do. My boyfriend says I should just crawl under there, unhook it, throw it in the back, and drive home without it, which, personally, is rather silly, I'm not even real sure exactly which one it is, really! But is it possible that he could coach me thru doing something similar? I took a little video, so you can hear the sound it's making, I can post some pics of you want, also, just let me know....thanks, in advance!

OK, so I have no clue how to post pictures or video to this particular website, I just discovered.....just let me know if you want to see them, I guess, and I'll change my settings so you can im me.....

They said everything under my hood is leaking!?

I'm 15, its my grandmas car but she gave it to me to drive her around cause shes partially blind. i have my permit. anyways she bought a 2000 pontiac grand prix gt coupe 134k for $1600 which was a good price i believe since on blue books the car is worth $3k. she bought it from a friend, i guess their close friends. However today we went to go change the oil at jiffy lube and the mechanic told us that everything under the hood was leaking, which was an exaggeration, i think.(a kid and an old woman, most naive customers considering the fact we know nothing about cars). he told us the windshield wiper fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, and coolant fluid were all leaking. which i should have caught on because the day before i poured some coolant in and it said it ran out the next morning. the car runs fine, except the steering wheel is getting hard to turn. how much is this to get repaired do we have to buy the parts. where can get get it done cheap. i live in los angeles or lancaster california(travel between two). my grandma doesnt want to give the car back she wants to keep it. p.s. i only have one key to the car which only starts the car, it doesnt lock the car doors so we keep it in the garage. now i read online that my car requires two keys, an entry key and a ignition key correct? cause i called the dealer( i know they could have a key cut for me there for $60) and they were saying that it might be my door locks, which how could it be i tried the driver door lock, passenger door lock and trunk lock , the key wouldn't go in all the way. so i was arguing with this man on the phone and he was like no cars only need 1 key, which i thought that too cause i drive my moms car also and it only requires 1 but my grandmas requires 2 which is correct 2 keys? cause the guy said he could go ahead and make the key for 60 bucks(to prove me wrong) but i dont want to risk paying 60 dollars IF it could be the car doors which i dont think so. yeah this was long

I just bought my first car and im already having a lot of trouble with it!!?

Please no rude answers, seriously, that's the last thing I need right now.

OMFG!! Okay well, I just bought my first car from a private dealer. Yesterday we went to test drive it and took a mechanic he inspected it and he did say that the car was overall in good shape, but needed a tune up and he did mention that it would need a timing belt as well as a water pump belt soon. Well today we paid and just 3 minutes after leaving GUESS WHAT? the water pump belt broke and the car overheated and engine coolant splashing in the windshield.
So basically I just spent the last 4 hours fixing the damn water pump belt, in the dark (thank god the mechaic was with me).... well the seller gave me 100 dollars to buy the parts and he did stay with us all along when we were repairing it..

Then the mechanic drove it home, and when we parked it in the garage.. something kinda like smoke but more like water vapor comming out of the hood.. and something sounded like when you are making tea and the water vapor is comming out of the tea maker or whatever you call that...

I AM SUPER PARANOID, SCARED, IT'S MY FIRST CAR AND FIRST DAY HAVING IT AND LOOK... I AM LIKE SWEATING. IS THIS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM OR WHAT DO YOU THINK??

I have no knowledge on this and the mechanic left before I saw the "vapor" coming out of the engine in the garage. When he replaced the belt, he did put new coolant on it....

Omg im freaking out....
